Amelie Edwards
Junior Blue Belt
A Rising Star in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Amélie Edwards embarked on her Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2018 at the age of 12 at Arte Suave. Initially aspiring to enter the world of MMA, she was drawn to the discipline and complexity of Jiu-Jitsu and quickly developed a passion for the sport. Her competitive debut was at a grassroots AGIG competition in a modest, character-filled gym, an event that sparked her ongoing success in the sport. Since then, Amélie has participated in numerous competitions, securing a series of medals, including significant achievements at the State Championships 2021 and the QBJJC Brisbane Open in November 2020.
Her affiliation with Arte Suave extends beyond training; the academy is a cornerstone in her life, appreciated not only for its top-notch facilities but also for its welcoming, community-like atmosphere. Amélie started working at Arte Suave 2021, contributing as an assistant while continuing her own training and development.
Amélie’s interests reach beyond the mats. She is passionate about languages, travel, and exploring different cultures, reflecting her broad-minded approach to life. This zest for learning is mirrored in her Jiu-Jitsu career, where she advanced through the youth ranks and, at 16, achieved her first adult belt, the Blue Belt, in 2022.
Amélie’s journey is a testament to her dedication and love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a path she continues to tread with determination and enthusiasm.
